German Astrobiological Society (DAbG)
The German Astrobiological Society (DAbG) brings together more than 100 scientists, mainly from German-speaking countries, who are involved in astrobiological research or related disciplines or who are interested in them independently of their own field of research.
The DAbG promotes the scientific exchange of information and cooperation between its members with the aim of promoting astrobiological research in Germany and making it more visible.
This is done by:
- Organizing the annual workshop at universities and institutes in German-speaking countries that are involved in astrobiological research
- Organizing working group meetings that deal with specific aspects of astrobiology
- Promoting young scientists, including through the annual award for the best young scientist, travel allowances and reduced membership fees
- Participating in other national and international societies, committees and commissions
